Restorative yoga is a style of yoga utilized to help you relax. The poses require no muscular exertion, each pose is deeply supported by bolsters, blankets + blocks, allowing the body to surrender into a state of deep relaxation + peace. Enhanced by Reiki, a gentle hands-on healing energy technique, this practice promotes stress reduction, relaxation + and well-being.

When I first stepped on my yoga mat, I was in my mid-20s, working for a film production company and planning my wedding. I was overworked, underpaid + burned out. I thought a yoga class would be a great way to get in shape for my wedding day. But, what I discovered is that yoga is so much more than a physical practice. It’s a sacred space where we can heal our bodies + our spirits. I’ve taught the packed flow classes, the intense workout-style yoga classes, and even spent many years teaching hot yoga — and although the classes were fun and energizing, I found that it was the slower, mindful + soulful practices that can truly transform. When we slow down to listen to our inner guide, care for ourselves on a deeper level + meet ourselves with compassion, and grace, we cultivate more ease + balance in our lives.

  • I LOVED my Reiki session with Mel. Having never tried it, I didn’t know what to expect, I just knew I was out of alignment energetically. There’s a certain level of openness and vulnerability that goes along with this type of energy work and Mel has a way of holding space that allows for total honesty with oneself. I felt deeply relaxed and cared for.
